Though he would make a name for himself almost exclusively on a regional setting, few golfers ever enjoyed the career and consistency of Lively native Brent Hatton. Far and away the most decorated winner of both the Club Championship and the Men’s Open at his home course, Hatton has accumulated more than 55 tournament victories over the years.
Yet it was only recently, in 2018, that the father of three would make his way to his first national event, qualifying to compete at the Canadian Seniors in New Brunswick. Despite plenty of success in his youth and young adult life, Hatton may have raised the bar in seniors play, a legitimate threat in provincial playdowns.
“I was lucky that my game maintained that consistency, that my golf swing maintained that consistency,” he said. “I was lucky enough to go out, year after year, and still hit the ball roughly the same way that I did the year before.”
