DON PRESCOTT

Inducted: 2019

Born in North Bay but moving to Sudbury prior to his teenage years, Don Prescott rose to prominence as a multi-sport athlete (hockey, fastball, basketball, football), signed to a tryout with the Boston Bruins (NHL) but opting to attend Ryerson Polytechnical, where he captained the hockey team. Still, it was in his adult life, largely through the sport of fastball, that Prescott really made a name for himself, involved in all facets of the game in Capreol, a hotbed for the sport at the time.

He would go on to sit on the board of the Ontario Amateur Softball Association, eventually serving as president, making his way to 3rd vice with the Canadian Amateur Softball Association and acting as Chef de Mission for the gold medal winning Team Canada entry at the Pan Am Games in Puerto Rico in 1990.
